Truffles - the most intoxicating food on the planet. Rare, mysterious…something we usually have to go to a good restaurant to experience. And - unless you’re at a spot that puts serious attention into quality ingredients - chances are the truffle fries on the menu are made with synthetic truffle oil. Truffles are the perfect food because they’re incredibly special, but require very little work to serve. You just let them shine. Sliced thin over a simple risotto or buttery pasta, over fries, or - as I like them - on a pressed sandwich with butter. I send you easy recipes with your fresh truffle that can all be ready in moments - and with things you probably already have at the house or can grab anywhere (like bread, butter, pasta, pizza dough). So easy and so unforgettable. Magical.

Truffle tree adoptions will likely open up again in a different form, but that is yet to be decided. So now is the time to buy.

All the details: As a Truffle Tree Adopter, you get:

• A year’s worth of truffle products shipped to your door (at no additional shipping cost to you beyond the adoption price). This includes a welcome package with key to the Truffle Orchard, and 2 packages of truffle products spread across the year - the first to be a one ounce Winter Perigord Black Truffle to arrive now, and the second filled with 1 bottle of truffle oil and 1 jar of truffle honey (or similar products selected based on my desire to deliver the most excellent items available at the time). The products are hand-curated by me, and sourced from the best and most highly regarded truffle importers. Most notably Ian Purkyayastha at Regalis - the humble rock star truffle expert to the Michelin Stars.

• No risk and all reward. I’m keeping the risk as to when and whether your adopted tree will produce. You get truffle products no matter what. Your tree is currently a baby not yet at production age, which is perhaps the most fun time to adopt. The updates and learning experience this year will be packed with the most activity in the Truffle Orchard’s life.

• To come out and visit your tree, tour the farm just outside of St. Louis, Missouri, and meet the farmer. You can even have a picnic by your tree with a view of the swans swimming the lake, if you so desire.

• To make a tangible difference in farming today. A Truffle Tree Adoption helps small, sustainable farming, and supports the business of a single girl lawyer turned farmer. A girl farmer in her 30s running the whole show, like we need more of for our food future. (The average farmer is a 58-year-old male - many of whom sadly have no family wishing to take over when they retire.)

• To learn about truffle cultivation. You will receive monthly updates on your tree, as well as information on how the mysterious Perigord Black Truffle is cultivated.
